Privacy notice

Job Ascend is operated by ReserveLogic Systems (the "responsible party" under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 — POPIA). This notice explains what personal information we hold, why, who ever sees it, and what you can ask of us.

If you are a job seeker

When you register through one of our intermediaries, we collect your name, identity number, date of birth, contact details, residential address, work experience, references, and the supporting documents you provide — the councillor or induna address confirmation and, where you choose the Platinum service, a SAPS clearance certificate. We collect this to verify who you are and to run your listing; that verification is the entire service you are paying for.

What ever becomes public, and what never does:

If you enquire about a job seeker

When you send an enquiry we collect your name, the contact details you give us, and what you need done. We use this only to arrange the introduction you asked for. Your identity is never shown on the public site — a listing's calendar shows only "proposed meeting with consumer". Your details are shared with the job seeker only once a meeting is confirmed.

If you are a sponsor

If you asked for your particulars to be advertised, we publish what was agreed with you when our representative contacted you — typically your business name, area and contact details. If you ticked the block declining advertising, we record that choice and publish nothing. You can change your mind either way by contacting us.

How your information is handled

Your rights under POPIA

You may ask us at any time: what personal information we hold about you; to correct it; to delete it (subject to records the law requires us to keep); or to withdraw a consent you gave us. Withdrawing consent to publish removes your listing; withdrawing consent to share contact details stops any future release of your number.

To exercise any of these, contact us through the details on our documentation or via the enquiry form. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) — inforeg.org.za.

Short version: we verify people so that strangers can trust each other with work. We publish only what you agreed to, we hand out contact details only with consent and a confirmed reason, and you can take it all back.
