How Job Ascend works
Most people are cautious about hiring someone off the street — not because of the work, but because there is no way to know who you are letting into your home. Job Ascend exists to close that gap.
What we check
- Identity. A local agent meets the job seeker, records their details and takes a copy of their identity document.
- Home address. A local councillor or induna who knows the person confirms in writing that they live where they say they do. That earns a Gold listing.
- Police clearance. Where the job seeker obtains a SAPS clearance certificate, the listing becomes Platinum.
- Consent. Nothing appears on this site until the job seeker has agreed in writing to what we publish. They can withdraw that at any time and the listing comes down.
What we are not
We are a listing service. We are not an employment agency, we are not a labour broker, and we are not the job seeker's employer. We do not take a cut of what you pay them and we do not set their rates.
You agree the work and the payment directly with the person you hire. Because there is no contractor and no team to carry, that is usually far cheaper than contract labour for the same job.
What it costs you
Nothing. Browsing and enquiring are free. Job seekers pay a small once-off fee to be listed, which covers the verification work and their listing.
